Plum Cake

“This cake has all the flavours of Christmas, made with chopped candied fruits, nuts and spices in concoction of orange juice makes a perfect winter treat”


1. Candied red cherries – 1/2 cup

2. Candied green cherries – 1/2 cup

3.  Golden raisins – 1/4 cup

4. Black raisins – 1/4 cup

5. Chopped Almonds – 1/2 cup

6. Chopped walnuts – 1/2 cup

7. Fresh orange juice – 2cups

8. Flour – 2 cups

9. Butter – 1 cup

10. White sugar – 1cup

11. Eggs – 5

12. Vanilla extract – 1tbsp

13. Baking soda – 1 tsp

14. Baking powder – 1 tsp

15. Spice powder – 2 tsp

Caramel syrup :

1. Sugar – 1/2 cup

2. Water – 2 tbsp

Procedure :

Soak overnight or for 4 hours, all fruits and nuts in orange juice.

Drain the soaked Dry fruits and reserve the orange juice for later use.

In a bowl add 2 tbsp flour and mix it well with soaked dry fruits.

For caramel syrup add sugar and water in a pan and cook on low heat till it gets nice dark colour.

Add Flour, baking soda, baking powder in a bowl and then add reserved orange juice

Then add butter, eggs, vanilla extract and spice powder.

Mix it well and later add soaked fruits

Bake it for 45 mins at 350 F in a pre-heated oven.

Your cake is ready to serve ❤
